Calais to Taunusstein - Approx 350 miles (560 km)- Allow 5 to 6 hours

Suggestion
Adding approx 2 - 2½ hours waiting and ferry transit time, the total travel time is c12 -14 hours!
I suggest taking the afternoon/evening ferry and stay over-night in Calais/Dunkerque area.

DIRECTIONS FROM CALAIS
* Out of Calais, Follow the A16/E40 East towards Dunkerque to junction 28.
* At J28, A16/E40, just before Dunkerque, turn right onto the N225/E42 towards Lille. After about 10km, the N225 leads into the A25. Follow the A25 to junction 7
* At J7 A25 turn left onto then northern ring road around the top of Lille to its junction 12.
* At J12 turn left onto the A22 towards Kortrijk, and Gent. The A22 changes its number before it arrives at Gent: E17/A14. Follow the E17/A14 motorway to junction 9
* At J9 E17/A24 turn right onto A10/E40 towards Brussels. Follow A10/E40 to junction 20.
* At junction 20 turn left onto the northern ring road around the top Brussels to its junction 2
* At J2, turn left onto the A3/E40 towards Liège (Luik). Stay on the A3/E40 (over the north loop road around the top of Liège/Luik) towards Aachen. The German boarder is at J40 and the motorway number changes to from A3 to A44. Follow the A44 to junction 4 (just NE of Aachen)
* At J 4, A44 turn right onto the A4/E40 towards Köln. Stay on the A4/E40 to junction 15.
* At J15, A4/E40 turn right onto the A3/E35 towards Siegburgh, Hennef, Neustadt etc. Be careful at J39 not to turn onto the A48 by mistake. Stay on the A3, beyond Limburg, to IDSTIEN at junction 45. Here, you leave the motorways!
* At J45, A3/E35 turn right onto B275. Go 10km to NEUHOF. You have arrived at TAUNUSSTEIN!
